Duncan Montgomery is a wood engraver from the North-East of England, now based in London. He became interested in wood engraving while studying early modern print culture during an English literature degree and subsequently taught himself to engrave, aided by a grant from the Karen and Alan Grieve Arts Award.
Currently he is working on a series of prints of Parson’s Pleasure, a male bathing spot in Oxford. He enjoys working collaboratively and is always interested in discussing new commissions or shared projects.
He also received the Quiller-Couch Award for his poetry, which has been published in PN Review, Carcanet New Poetries IV, the Sunday Times and Blackbox Manifold.
